On May 29th, 2025, Sky-Futures announced the acquisition of UnmannedTech, Africa’s premier specialist in industrial aerial surveys, monitoring, and data collection in remote locations.

The acquisition of UnmannedTech complements Sky-Futures’ capabilities across Africa, giving clients access to state-of-the-art solutions for advanced infrastructure inspections, risk management, and structure monitoring. Collectively, the companies serve clients in oil and gas, utilities, renewable energy, civil infrastructure, and a variety of other industries, including security and wildlife conservation.

UnmannedTech founder and CEO Louw Bonthuys will lead the development of the Sky-Futures hub in Africa, strengthening client support and providing greater flexibility and dedicated service throughout the region.

He and his team of inspection engineers and experienced UAS pilots will continue to be based in Cape Town, South Africa.
