The Opportunity
We are seeking a Remote Pilot to join our operations team and support global uncrewed systems deployments.
This is a field-focused operational role involving international deployments across offshore installations, vessels, industrial facilities, remote infrastructure, and austere environments. You will operate advanced uncrewed systems and associated payloads in support of inspection, ISR, survey, and technical data acquisition missions.
When not deployed, you will be based at our Essex office supporting operational readiness, maintaining systems and equipment, and contributing to operational planning and capability development.
This role offers exceptional operational exposure and the opportunity to build advanced technical and operational expertise within a globally recognised uncrewed systems operator at the forefront of commercial deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate uncrewed systems in accordance with aviation regulations, Sky-Futures Operations Manual requirements, and approved operational procedures
- Deploy internationally to support inspection, ISR, survey, and technical operations across a range of environments
- Conduct mission and flight planning, risk assessments, and method statements
- Deliver operational briefings, including toolbox talks, safety briefings, and client briefings
- Maintain flight currency and operational readiness in accordance with company requirements
- Maintain uncrewed systems, sensors, and associated support equipment
- Support mobilisation, logistics, and operational preparation for deployments
- Produce operational reports and documentation to company and client standards
- Participate actively in the Safety Management System, including reporting, safety action groups, and operational reviews
- Represent Sky-Futures professionally in client-facing environments
- Support operational capability development, including engineering integration, system testing, regulatory approvals, and operational planning
Working Pattern
- Hybrid role based in Essex
- Minimum three days per week in office when not deployed
- Frequent international travel, including offshore, remote, and austere operating environments
- Deployment durations vary depending on operational requirements
Essential Requirements
- UK CAA Remote Pilot qualification (GVC or equivalent)
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally on a regular basis
- Strong personal accountability and professional standards
- Practical mindset and strong problem-solving ability
- Ability to operate independently and as part of a team
- Full UK driving licence
- Right to work in the United Kingdom
Desirable Requirements
- Additional Remote Pilot qualifications (EASA or other national authorities)
- Offshore certification (BOSIET, FOET, CA-EBS, or equivalent)
- Experience operating uncrewed systems in industrial, offshore, or remote environments
- Technical or engineering background
- Additional languages
- Military or operational field experience
